Not too long ago I was on a walkabout in DC in the Library of Congress neighborhood. The time was sort of early, 8:30 a.m., and the weather was cloudy and drizzly. I rounded the corner by the front steps and discovered this bride and groom with their photographer. I was on the platform below them and so quickly took this shot; I didn’t want to interfere with the shoot so I walked on by. It got me to wondering if they were actually going to have their wedding in the Library. Is that even possible? “Why not,” I answered myself. Sometimes photographers are said to “create” the memory instead of just capturing it. That may be true of weddings if the photo backdrop is an exotic or cool setting that is actually just “available” and not really part of the ceremony. But I choose to believe they will have their wedding in the Library right after the pictures. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!
I haven’t been out much, a little under the weather, but I am going to change that today!
